Build the Beat: A Family Rhythm Jam—A Harmonious Steps Concert with JCC Harlem’s Maker Space

In this third concert in the Harmonious Steps series, we will feel the rhythm come alive in this high-energy performance where music and movement meet. This lively concert explores how rhythm travels from instruments to footsteps and back again. With swinging melodies, playful improvisation, and irresistible beats, families will experience the joy of jazz, rhythm, and movement in a performance that’s as exciting to watch as it is to hear.

This project is made possible in part with funds from Creative Engagement and UMEZ Arts Engagement a regrant program(s) supported by the funding agencies The New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ), and administered by LMCC.

While the concert is free, an RSVP is requested.

Join JCC Harlem at 9:30 AM for a themed Maker Space experience inspired by the day’s musical program. Families are invited to explore hands-on, open-ended art and creativity activities that connect with the music you’ll hear during the performance. It’s the perfect way to play, create, and immerse yourself in the theme before the concert begins.
