✨ This is what breaking the barrier looks like. ✨
No stage. No “shhh.”
Just kids, parents, and a piano—up close, curious, and completely immersed.
We’re reimagining live classical and jazz music one concert at a time, inviting the audience to experience it the way it was meant to be: alive, shared, and joyful. 💫
Huge thank you to @rocklandconservatoryofmusic for welcoming us and making space for this magic last weekend.

When you look back at 2025… and it feels like a blur 💫
A blur filled with smiles, concerts and assemblies, epic dance parties, and beautiful moments of connection through music.
Thank you to our incredible musicians, partners—old and new—and the many audiences who showed up, interacted with the music, and made the magic with us.
We can’t wait to see what’s next in 2026 🎶✨

Kids are bundles of energy right now (grown-ups, too!).
Channel it mindfully with a simple prompt: Move like the music.
If the music tiptoes, tiptoe with it.
If it jumps, jump!
If it melts… melt right into the carpet.
Movement transforms restlessness into expression, supports regulation, and brings the whole family into the moment together.
Try it while you’re cooking, getting ready for the day, or winding down in the evening.

If cold weather has you indoors, try this playful listening game:
Put on a piece of music and ask your child to “hunt” for sounds — a high note, a drum hit, a quiet moment, a fast part.
Every time they hear it, they point, clap, or make a movement.
This simple practice sharpens focus, builds musical awareness, and turns any living room into a joyful, mindful space.

The concert that sparked it all.
Eight years ago, at a @chelseasymphony concert, a baby backstage, a first performance as a new mom— and in that moment, an idea took shape:
What if we created even more experiences where classical music welcomed everyone?
Thank you to the Chelsea Symphony for welcoming a newborn into rehearsals and the concert — it was truly a dream experience.
That spark led to our first Mozart for Munchkins concert later that year.
Today, we’ve grown from one program into 150+ experiences each year.
We’re endlessly grateful to the families, artists, and partners who’ve grown with us.
Thank you for believing that music belongs to everyone. 💙

The evenings get darker, the days feel fuller, and sometimes bedtime needs a reset button.
Here’s a simple practice we use in our classes: breathe with the music.
Choose a slow piece (Debussy and Bach work beautifully).
Breathe in for four beats… out for four beats.
Hold a stuffed animal on your child’s belly so they can “watch” the breath move.
Music gives structure to the breath, and breath brings softness back into the body. A small ritual with a big impact.

We’re breaking the idea of a traditional performance experience and bringing new meaning to “the best seat in the house.” ✨
Here, children don’t watch from far away — they experience the magic up close, from a parent’s shoulders, on the floor, and right alongside the magic.

December is joyful… and overstimulating.
One of our favorite ways to settle the nervous system is simply to draw what you hear.
Put on a piece of music — anything from Vivaldi to jazz to holiday classics — and invite little hands to draw the sounds. Curvy lines, tiny dots, big swirls, whatever comes.
It’s not about the picture.
It’s about presence.
Music gives the brain rhythm; drawing gives it shape. Combined, they help kids calm, focus, and express feelings that might not have words yet.
If you try it, tag us! We’d love to see your tiny masterpieces.

💛 GIVING TUESDAY 💛
Today, we’re reflecting on why this work matters so deeply.
Every week, our musicians and teaching artists bring live, joyful, developmentally aligned music into classrooms, shelters, Head Start programs, and community spaces across NYC.
And every week, we see moments like these:
A toddler in a Head Start classroom who finds focus tapping a drum.
Newly arrived migrant children smiling and beginning to dance during a shelter concert.
Families singing together — in English and Spanish — during our bilingual classes.
An educator sharing, “This is the only time my class breathes together.”
These moments are why the @littlemozartfoundation exists — to make music accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all children.
In addition to our regular Mozart for Munchkins concerts and classes, the Little Mozart Foundation brings free and deeply subsidized programs to underserved communities across NYC.
This year, these programs reached hundreds of children and families.
If you believe in this mission, we’d be grateful for your support this Giving Tuesday.
